Default Just tested my US Cutter Laserpoint 24

I was finally able to test my US Laserpoint 24 today. I downloaded four different designs just to get an idea of what this cutter could do. I must say I am happy. The vinly I used is sisser easy weed and basically the settings on my US Cutter were all default except for the pressure which was set to 90 and I turned it up to 100 because it did not seem to cut totally through the vinly on the spiderman logo, but once I turned the pressure up the three other designs we alot easier to weed.

Talking Re: Just tested my US Cutter Laserpoint 24

Thanks TDP. Its basically my first time because my only experience with a cutter before this was my friends master xy 380p but I never used it. I would make vector designs for him and watch him cut it out. The only reason everything is so smooth for me is because before I became a registered member I would troll this site looking for info because I was becoming interested in what I saw being done at my friends shop.

Hey Teach the laserpoint is not hard to learn at all,and besides you've got tons of support on here should something go wrong. when I purchased it I downloaded the manual and skimmed through it and then everything else was learned as I was tinkering with it. My setup is on a mac running Illustrator CS2 and then exporting to signcut once I am ready to cut. Signcut takes a little getting use but its not overly complicated, you can learn it in a couple of hours in my opinion.

This was a great starter cutter. I bought it, made my $ back within 6 months and upgraded to graphtec =D. It's annoying when the blade head hits the side push button, then I gota reboot the machine. Other than that..it gets the job done. (A bit noisy too)

Wane, have you used the contour cut function? I'm hoping this feature is fairly easy to use. Mike

So I was testing the contour cut feature on my laserpoint 24 and for some reason signcut keeps crashing and quiting. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but has anyone else had this problem.

Sorry Wane, I don't use Sign blazer, I use cutting Master. Thanks for the update. I'm waiting to buy a Laserpoint. Mike

I am not using signblazer. I am on a mac using signcut. The cutter itself is great for the price that I paid its just that I am having trouble figuring out the contour cutting function. Truthfully I didn't buy it for the contour cut feature but I thought it would be something good to have.

I'm using a pc. Currently I use the CC330L-20 Craftrobo to contour cut, I'm tired of it's limitations. I would like a larger cutter, it's a
money thing. Mike

I too had a problem using Signcut Pro on my LP24 recently. I am using a PC laptop with USB. Whenever I went to the jog function in simple contour cut mode, I lost communication with the cutter. I got ahold of Kimon on the USCutter support forum. He found a bug in the latest SC Pro software and sent me a previous version. It's has been working like a champ every since.
I realize your using the Mac version.
Try the USCutter forum, look for the Signcut support area, and get ahold of Kimon. He was very helpful in resolving my contour cut issues with the Laserpoint.

Thanks JV I am going to look into it because really did not have the time because I was doing a couple of jobs for halloween but now I do. I really appreciate the help.
Now I know what every meant when they said once people find out that you have a cutter the request will just start coming in.
