Chris, I had the same problem making it very hard to weed the vinyl. Someone finally led me in the right direction. In my software, in the cutting dialog, there is an option that reads "Overcut". I set mine to 0.010 and presto! Problem solved!

Hello David
i tried looking around the software and couldn't find an adjustment for the overcut. but i did find a cut offset. would this be the same adjustment?

Not exactly sure what the offset does, but that doesn't sound right to me. The over cut actually forces the plotter to continue cutting past where it knows it should. In my case, I set it to 0.010 so the blade will continue moving for another tenth of an inch past where the image says it should stop. Make sense? I don't know what software you are using. I use the VE (Vinyl Express) LXi Pro. I bought the plotter used from a guy here in Atlanta and that's the software that it came with so I don't know much about the other packages out there. Sorry! Wish I could be of more help!

Hey David
I have the VE LXI expert 7.5 from vinyl express. I've done a search in the help section of the ve lxi software and nothing came up regarding the overcut.

Chris,

Mine is version 8. Don't know if yours has the same options but I am attaching a screenshot to show you. After you click the cut button, you get this dialog. Click on the "Advanced" tab at the top and you hopefully will see this. I previously said I had mine set to 0.010. My bad. It's 0.100. Hope this helps! If you don't get the screenshot, let me know and we'll do it another way.

Not a problem Chris. I'm going to upgrade also so that I can run the software on Windows Vista, or better yet, Windows 7. Tired of keeping a machine around on XP just because the software needs it.
