Yesterday I tried to press a vinyl design crossing the side seam of a T-shirt. The design was a line drawing type so the vinyl was only about 1/8" wide. It was just an experiment but I think I would have a market if it would work. I pressed following directions then carefully snipped the design where it did not adhere over the seam and pressed again. It did stick then but if the shirt is stretched a bit there is a gap in the design. Is there any way around this?

I've done that before and where it had the little gap between the vinyl and the seam I kinda rolled the seam against the press. It adhered to it that way. Gotta be careful not to burn your fingers.

Aha, then you sort of just smooshed the vinyl into the seam? Did it stay stuck and not pull up as the shirt was worn? Of course I guess the vinyl should treat the seam as just a part of the shirt if it can get stuck firmly enough. Guess I will keep playing around with it.

yeah it held on. I did it with a few different types of vinyl. Only had issues with two of them. One was CadFlex, it basically melted as I was rolling it around. The other I think was FirstMark. It did the same thing. Hotmark & thermoflex did fine. the thinner the vinyl the better it does.

Make you you stretch the shirt enough that it wont wrinkle while you press. If you know what I mean :P
