Default question about buying the USCutter laserpoint

I went online to buy the USCutter Laserpoint but noticed it came with Skinblazer Elements and Signcut Pro software and Flexistarter 8.5 as a $60 option but states "contour cut feature not possible with Flexistarter software. I plan to use it mostly for signs and window decals.
Can someone clarify why one would buy Flexstarter if the contour cut is not possible? I have never used a vinyl cutter so I'm not sure which software works best for what I want to do.
Thanks

The software that comes with it free is suffecient to contour cut, so don't purchase the extra programs.

The man that designed Signblazer has passed away. For the last year or so, nobody (except other users) have provided support for the software and there have been no upgrades. That is the reason they offer the other selections. Signblazer works fine now, but it's future is in question.

There is nothing wrong with usingSignblazer it works great and it is free I do not see any thing changing on this as there is no update on what they are going to do with the program..

I don't disagree with you. I was just pointing out to someone new they are getting a program that has no support. Signblazer works fine now. I use it almost everyday. Will it continue to work when microsoft chages OS again? Who knows.

I have found that Signcut Pro works quite well with the LP. The contour cut feature works well and is easy to use. You will get a one year free subscription when you purchase it from USCutter or USCutter on ebay.

You might want to consider that the Signblazer included with the USCutter products is dead, unsupported and never-to-be-upgraded software. Any "support" you need will have to be through online user forums. Also, you'll be working with "trial" software which, though fully-functional, still puts you through splash screens and other trial nonsense.

Also, while it (sort-of) works now, you have to think of the future. XP (the platform it's designed to work on) is now unsupported by Micro$oft and Vi$ta is on its way out. Support aside, there's no upgrade path.

If you're going to get into a business, don't start off by painting yourself into a corner. Instead of throwing yourself into learning a doomed package, start playing with trial versions of others and see what jives with your work style.

I would use the FREE software until it is no longer serviceable. By then you might not have that cutter or you will have made enough money to buy even newer software.
