Default Lifespan of Roland GX24

How long do these cutters usually hold up? I'm being offered a two year old one with about 100 working hours for half price.

There's a A.Adkins clam heat press in the same package but the price is about the same as a new similar cheapo heat press.

Do you think these are worth the price?

I would think they last a long time, because there is not a lot too them. Mine is going on 2 years and the only thing I have had to do is replace 1 blade and the cutting strip.

We still see PNC-1000s in use today and they were built almost 20 years ago. You should get a minimum of 10-12 years out of a Roland vinyl cutter.

BTW, are there some specific things on the cutter I should check before buying it so that I know it's in proper working order? Naturally I'll ask for a test cut but anything else?
