Default Advice regarding budget plotter with high pressure ability....

Hi all,

I'm new here, and familiarising myself in this new world of t-shirt-making, vinyls, and plotters!

I'm looking for a budget desktop vinyl cutter/plotter that will have enough pressure to cut through sandblast vinyl for creating rhinestone templates. From what I've seen, the best thickness for this vinyl would be between 0.5mm-0.75mm. I think this would require a pressure of about 350gf, but this is just a guess from what I've read.

I've found an affordable A3 plotter called the Craftmate 330 (also known as the Cutok DC330) Vinyl Cutters from vinyl-cutters.co.uk - Craftmate A3 330 (Powered by CubeCart)

Would this machine enable me to cut through this sandblast/template vinyl, like the material here: Sign Supplies and Equipment: 425-SP Sandmask - 15 inch x 10 yds Perf - Low Price Guarantee ?

If not, has anyone else bought a budget plotter that can cut through thicker vinyl?

And if anyone has any advice regarding where to buy in the UK this thicker sandblast/template vinyl to create rhinestone templates, that would be great.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Jme

Talk to Marjorie or Doug at Graphic Marking Systems(graphicsms.com) 800-232-8018. Years back they were invaluable to me when setting up a decal division for Riddell-they know their stuff when it comes to cutters/plotters and tough substrates.. Michael
