I print a lot of white on black with small quantities. I have been using Spectra Cut since it is easier to do single color, short run light on dark jobs. Plus, it's cheap. However, it is also really lame. I have a hard time pulling off the backing, and I hate waiting for the shirt to cool before I can peel. The vinyl doesn't stick to the shirt very well, either. I have to press it several times, and I still get the occasional complaint that a letter fell off or is coming off.
I was planning on switching to Siser EasyWeed. The price is higher, but still cheaper than Thermoflex. Spectra Cut II is about the same price, but comes in 19 inch rolls instead of 15. Does Spectra Cut II suffer from the same problems as Cut or am I better off with EasyWeed?
i've never used easyweed, but if you like the 19" rolls (and hot peel....) try multicut from joto paper. i haven't had those problems since i quit using the spectra...

I looked into Multicut, but it is $8.30 to $9.30 per yard. EasyWeed is $5.90 to $6.99 per yard, 1.29 cents per square inch compared to 1.35 cents. The biggest I normally go is 11 inches wide. The only exception is when I am doing jerseys and they run bigger than shirts. I Would go up to 18 inches wide, but I could always run them down the roll instead of across.
i use spectra eco film from imprintables. it's the only vinyl i've used since getting my gx-24 and have never had a problem. it's easy to weed, you can hot or cold peel, and it looks/feels great.
This is a discussion about Spectra Cut II just as bad as Spectra Cut? that was posted in the Vinyl Cutters (Plotters) and Transfers section of the forums.
