Hi, I'm desperate and hope someone can help.
I have a Creation (HK) Kingcut CT630 which I've been using for a few months now. I use this for very simple but crucial letter cutting and it has always proved adequate even with the basic Artcut software it came with. I run Win2k for basic work like this but most of my work is on Mac.
I reconnected the machine to the PC last week after a few weeks downtime and found that the PC did not recognize it any longer. Why? go figure...so I reinstalled the USB to serial driver (which the System Manager says is good) as well as Artcut again, configured this to run on the USB port (COM3 which shows as USB in Artcut) that appeared in the software as well as Device Manager to no avail.
Then miraculously, it ran a small job well enough. I had a small issue with the roll of vinyl which caused me to pause the cutter, then nothing!! - reinstalled everything again and then Nada! Tried COM2, COM3 as well and still nothing. Then I installed Signblazer - same problem - no machine is recognized.
I even installed SignCut X2 on the Mac, with what I was told was the appropriate USB/serial driver for the Mac. The Mac (which is foolproof and solid) found no machine - it did nothing but this may have to do with SignCut not seeing my internet port.
HELP! I'm really desperate now...and either PC or Mac would serve great but neither wants to see the cutter.
Thankks
Am trying this with 4 USB cables now, thanks. The serial cable just doesn't work and it seems the Mac doesn't recognize the chipset, so it's PC. Worse case will be a complete reinstall of Windows to reallocate COM ports I suppose...

You probably have tried this, but I would go to device manager, port settings, advanced and change the port settings there, although it is possibly showing the port setting that you want I would try the other ports, you may have to shut down after each change?
All the best.
Yes, tried that. Which is the most frustrating thing! It should read as USB **(COM3) but when I chose this on both device manager and the software, no machine is seen. Best I got was an error 6 (I think) which basically means the port is in use or inaccessible which it isn't. aaargh!
