Default T-shirt prints with cutter?

Hi all.

I have a cutter that I use for various things. Now I want to make some t-shirts, with a print, and I was wondering if I can use my cutter for this?
I thought that a print on a shirt was made with a special printer, but if I understand it right you can also make a print with a cutter and use a heat press to apply the material on a shirt. Can someone confirm this and if so, what is the best material for this?

Sorry, I'm very new to this.

If you have a cutter with an optical eye or a contour cutting feature, then you can print out transfers on transfer paper, and then have the cutter cut out the design. Once it is cut out you would then weed out the excess paper (the part that is not printed) and then press it. If your cutter does not have an optic eye or a contour cutting feature, you will not be able to do this.

Thanks. I guess I have to find out if my cutter (Puma II) supports Contour Cutting.
