First off I AM A NEWBIE,

I just purchased my screen printing equipement and I'm wanting to purchase a vinyl cutter and heat press. The main use for the cutter would be numbers for team uniforms, and I was wondering if the USCutter Laserpoint 24 would be significant enough for this application? I'm sure I will use if for other things but I don't see me getting too sophisticated with it anytime soon.

For the heat press, obviously i will use it to apply the vinyl, and I am also looking at getting a dye sub printer and would like to be able to utilize it for that as well. I don't even know where to start looking for a heat press, there are so many out there, and I'm really new to all of this, so please advise of anything I should look out for when making a decision.

And last but not least, I don't have a significant amount of money to invest on this, so I would like to keep the total price for both items between $1000 - $1500.

buy what you ca afford to get the job done. a us cutters plotter will be enough to get you started, i have had one for 3 years and still kicking. buy a heat press you can afford. when you get some jobs under your belt and make some money upgrade and use these as a backup.

I use a Roland versacam and its awesome. No problems.
Get a heat press that has a release. Not necessary air release but at least piston release. This allows some efficiencies in the work process. Get a non contact thermostat too.
