Default Versacamm SP300 New owner problem

Hi guys
Weve just bought a SP300 which we are really impressed with but still trying to figure things out.
Can anyone please advise how to cut around an image rather than the image boundary.

For example we have a black image with a transparent background (tiff file). When we set the versacamm away (ripped etc) with print and cut option set, it prints it out but doesnt cut.

If we select cut image boundaries it just cuts a square and includes the white unprinted vinyl as well.
We just want the black image not the surrounding white unprinted material.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Neil

You need to do this in Illustrator or Corel using an outlined stroke set as "CutContour". You should have the swatch available within the program.

Look here:

Start at page 50.

The above link will help you understand more about how to set up the contours as well as some of the workflows, like learning how to make double sided decals is quite confusing and they give a pretty good example.

You artwork has to be a vector file or a raster file outlined with a vector outline. Then you will be able to put your cutcontour line around it. Tiffs & jpegs are raster files.
I think someone put a video on here recently on "cutcontour on a jpeg image" which would be the same
for a tiff. You should be able to find it with a search.

There's also this PDF e-book (Taking the Mystery out of Print and Cut) from Roland which I really liked and asked all my guys to read. It's here: http://www.rolanddga.com/color/resou...stery_Book.pdf

Hey guys,
thanks for all your help, that book was great.
Im still having problems though but I hope to get to the bottom of it.
Is there no plugin that will do it automatically?
When you have a path for the contourcut that is copied from photoshop into AI, do you need to match it with the original graphic.
Do you do this manually or is there a "snap to" function to make it easier or a merge path etc.
thanks for the help, its really appreciated.
