Default Need Major Assistance with Roland Color Cam Pro pc-60

Hello I have the Vinyl Color Cam Pro PC-60. Im having a problem, being that It was given to me and I have the installation disk called Drawmate for the computer and vinyl cutter to respond to one another. The problem is when I inserted to install the program. I got a message saying that the CD can only relate to Corel 9 and I have Corel 12. Now I am trying to find another program that will allow the vinyl cutter to relate back to the computer instead of going out and buying corel 9. Someone please help me out with this problem.

I think Drawmate was a vector trace program kind of like corel trace that integrated with corel. I think you should look into a sign, design program that will drive your printer/cutter. I think sign go is one you could check out. I am sure there are plenty of others.

For the printing/cutting side of my PC60 I just run it from Corel, you will need to install the printer drivers themselves (if you haven't got this it can be downloaded from Rolanddg.com), just make sure you use a hairline outline for the cutting line (make sure the colour is different from any within the graphic).

Drawmate is an old plugin from Stahls that works in Corel 9, I think there is a version 10 but thats it. It was a set of tools for Corel and it had the setting and color assignments for the PC60 and 600 printers. It also has a trace function that works with Corel Trace. It basically has the settings preset to work the best and it actually does work pretty good. There some other stuff in there that is sometimes helpful also.
I still have a PC600 that we use rarely, just costs to much to operate.
I am sure there are ways to run the printer without Drawmate but it is helpful.
You have to create a color pallete to use the spot colors and a special cut contour color.
There is a forum on the Roland site just for these printers.
This is a very tempermental machine. Everything has to be clean and the material has to be cleaned with alchol before running. These things are notorius for blowing print heads. You may want to figure out a way to test it before going to far. If there are lines in the print, the head is gone and it cost $1k to fix.
