Here are some closeups of a vinyl transfer I created with thermoflex (after washing and ironing inside out).

Before I washed it, the surface of the Vinyl material was completely smooth, flawless, perfect.

Afterwards, I noticed some creases, so I ironed them out. After ironing, I noticed that there were still some "fine lines and wrinkles".

My biggest question is: Is this typical?

Is this whats happening to everyone using thermoflex?

Are these the best results that I can expect?

Heres my heat application technique:

1. Stahls Mightypress at 345 degrees.

2. Pre-press brand new Alstyle shirt for 10 secs.

3. Press design for 20 secs.

4. Let cool, peel backing, and repress for another 10
secs with clear backing on top.

I washed with color safe bleach, dried on high heat.

I know the best way would be low heat, but im sure that most of my customers will disregard the wash instructions.

I want to simulate a worst case scenario.

If these results look normal, or typical let me know.

My goal is to maximize durability and customer satisfaction.

Thanks guys, this is my first post but I've been observing for a while.

It is very hard to tell from the pictures.

How large is the area that is covered with the vinyl?

Did the T shirt shrink up, which is causing the wrinkles?

I use thermoflex on a daily basis. Have been using this about 5 years. Students are still wearing shirts I produced 5 years ago.

I only print on 50/50 blend shirts. I use a Stahls Hotronix press, preheat garmet for 5 seconds, then press at 350 for 20 seconds, depending on color of thermoflex I peel either hot or cool, whichever the direction for the particular color says.

Have never had a complaint on the thermoflex.

Hope this helps you.

Designs or logos that have more detail and require less transfer vinyl (i.e. fine script lettering) work well with thin types of heat transfer vinyl because they don't show the wrinkling effect that may occur after washing with some 100% cotton and cotton/poly blends.
Slightly thicker, more durable heat transfer vinyls are better suited to graphics that cover a larger surface area (i.e. a square or other object without detailed cuts or cavities).

Always follow supplier instructions for heat application and washing and encourage your customers to do the same for optimal results.

Hope this helps...good luck!
