I am going to pick up VP540 this saturday.
It is 1year old.
which part and what kind of test should I do?
Do roland sell extened warranty and should I buy it?

Watch it do a test print. Have the owner print out a status report, it will have a lot of information about the usage of the printer. Have him open up the print head maintainance bay and have a look in there, is it clean? Does it look like it's been well maintained or abused?
I bought mine's used and had some issues I had to fix on my own, so be careful.
Roland will not sell you a warranty on a used machine, at least that's what they told me.
