Default Images from CorelDrawX4 with Roland GX24

I read somewhere on these forums that if I saved my CorelDRAW X4 images with .eps that I could open them in CutStudio and print and cut from there. That's not working for me. Could someone tell me how they print or cut their graphics if bringing from either Photoshop or CorelDrawX4? I have lots of questions since we just purchased this Roland GX24 used yesterday, and I've searched the forums a lot and gotten a lot of great information. Thanks everyone!

When using Corel Draw X4 have you tried exporting the file out as a .plt file? This will create your plot file that your cutter will need -

Did you receive software with your Roland cutter you purhcased?

Once you create the .plt file, which you can do from an eps file, you should be good to go!

We have many vinyl cutters here in our offices, Roland and many others - typically with any situation, we have been there and done that!

Fabulous. I tried what you suggested and must have been doing something wrong because it would only save half of the image, which makes no sense to me. But I went in and tried the .eps again, and voila, it worked. I'm going to play around with this a bit, but it looks like we've got it. Thanks thanks thanks!!

It might have to do with what version of Illustrator you save the file as... I think Cut Studio only recognizes version 8 and earlier files.

Instead of exporting and importing, why don't you use the Cut Studio plug in? 1 Click from Corel and you have the vector file opened in Cut Studio.

Is there a plug in for CorelDRAW X4? Do you know if I can download that someplace? Thanks!

The plug in should be on the Cut Studio install CD.

I copied the files from the CD into the CorelDRAW folders per the instructions, but maybe I'm just not finding where you can "one click" for it to move over to CutStudio. Do you know where this is or what exactly I'm looking for?

Instructions from the CD...

********************************************
Add the start button to the toolbar.
********************************************
1. Start CorelDRAW and open a new document.
2. From the Tools menu, click Customization.
The Options window opens.
3. Click Customization, and then click Commands from the submenu.
4. From the Commands pull-down menu, choose Macros.
The macro information is displayed.
5. From the macro list, select CutStudioPlugIn.ExecuteCutStudio.CutStudio, and drag and drop it on the toolbar.
If the macro is dragged and dropped on a location other than the existing toolbar, a toolbar for Roland CutStudio CorelDRAW Plug-in is created.
6. Click OK to close the Options window.
Close CorelDRAW.
The next time CorelDRAW is started, the start button appears at the location you specified.

Blah. I've done all that and I have a little icon, but it doesn't work. I think after all this messing around with this thing today I have a mushy brain. Maybe tomorrow I will see something I'm missing. Thanks so much for all your help!!

I believe the plug in is only 'supported' up to X3. I've heard of people using it with X4... I bought X3 because cut studio was advertised to work with it.
