Default heat pressing a vinyl Image on top of another vinyl image???

An idea came to me about a different design and I wanted to see if this was possible. I was thinking of using my plotter to cut some heat transfer vinyl in the shape of one of the US states. Then I was going to put some text on top of the vinyl state cut out that is a different color from the cut out of the state and the shirt.

So, my question is can can I heat press a vinyl design on top of another vinyl design? And if so, what's the best way to do it? Time, temp, pressure, etc?

You can, usually you use less time on the first press then full time on the last press, but time/temp differs based on manufacturers. For some more threads and references regarding how to do this, put "layering vinyl" in the "Search T-shirtforums.com" box.

Here's a few directly related to the topic:

I did check out the link and did follow the suggestions of a few people. It came excellent! They really came out good. I did notice that the more you layer, the harder the vinyl is going to feel. I have been using the Fashion Film from Stahls. Very soft feel on one application. But the more yo layer, the harder it will feel. I only put on 1 layer of vinyl on top of the other so it came out not so hard. But I could tell the difference with my hands. My customers won't.
