Default Question about purchasing Roland gx 24

Hello there you guys! I am very knew to all of these. I just bought a heat press, an epson 1400 with pigment ink and some transfer paper from Jet Pro for dark and white t shirts. Right now i am about to buy a cutter and i think that the Roland gx 24 is the most suitable for my job. My question is that how this cutter can cut designs like this Vector Illustration of T-shirt design for example?. This is a very complicated design and i would like to ask if anyone knows how to transfer designs in a t shirt such as these.

Will this cutter can be so precisly with all these details that this design have on it? Or is it another method that these kind of designs can be transfered on the t shirt? I heard about a special paper that transfers only the ink without the need of a cutter.

Thank you!

You do not need a cutter to do transfers...Some papers will require triming to avoid white box from showing, but with a cutter w/optic eye or other registration system can do what is called contour cutting to do the trim for you. The GX24 is a popular printer...but not necessarily the end all to be all cutter. Depends on your use down the road. For example the GX24 is limited to 250 grams downforce. and for most work that is fine. I did have the GX24 and sold it because I am using a vinyl cutter to do rhinestone designs and needed more down force. So I got the GCC Puma III which has 400 grams down force and also has an optic eye and is in the same price range...my source was a bit cheaper...than the GX24

Aha! I can see that you have many experience about all these. I know that you dont need a cutter to transfer designs...all i need is to get rid of the white background from such a coplicated design and i need to know if a cutter with an optic eye can do that.

From your experience what would you do in this kind of design?? Does this GCC Puma III can handle this situation?

Thank you for answering me and forgive me for not knowing so much..

yes the GCC Puma III does have an optic eye, as does the GX24. To get the specs on the Puma III, check heatpressvinyl.com. I think they are a distributor..better than going direct to GCC

You last comment about forgive you for not knowing so much...just the opposite..admire those that seek to learn..it is only when one pretends to know and doesn't that one gets into trouble

Good luck in your venture
