Default What Vinyl to Use

Hello everyone, I have just order a cutter and need some advice from all you pros out there! Ok I would like to use my cutter for cutting vinyl that is used in windshields of vehicles. Which vinly would I use for this purpose? Can someone who does this tell me how this is done using a Roland GX 24. I would also like to do this on interior wall and have read thru other post that the oracle 631 is the vinyl of choice? Please offer any advice or suggestions on this.

I cut lettering and window decals out of oracal 651. Haven't been at it long so can't say it'll last forever but it works pretty good. One problem I had was using the plastic type clear application tape. It seams to stretch when applied and caused the sign lettering to buckle somewhat and made applying slightly difficult and you shouldn't use a "wet " apply maethod with it either so you have to be spot on with alignment . Goood luck.

I agree with the Oracal 651 for windshields and 631 for indoor wall art.

Hi have a sign/screen printing/embroidery business and I use Oracal 651 i believe that it has a 4-5 year outdoor use, if a decal can last more then 3 years without peeling that is good, you could use the hi-performance vinyl it has a outdoor use os 5-7 years but it cost twice the amount of the 651.

The only difference I notice is that when you go to remove the hi-performance it holds together meaning it don't come off in small pieces like the 651, in cases like that I use a heat gun to heat up vinyl prior to removing.
