I am brand new to this forum and brand new to vinyl cutters. I am a graphic artist by trade and decided to venture out, so I just purchased a Roland GX-24 from the fine people at Imprintables.

Here's my problem:

I am using this on a Mac running the Cut Studio plugin for Illustrator. I have gone through all the setup steps, etc. I think I generally understand how all of this works; however, when I send a job over to the cutter, it says, "Sending Data" and does nothing else.

It is a very simple design since I'm just playing around right now. Everything is hooked up correctly as my computer does recognize the cutter. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you able to query the GX-24 from CutStudio to get the width of the material? That's where I'd start. If CutStudio can request the media width and gets a valid response from the GX-24 then your comms are good. The next step would be to do a cut preview to be sure there are cut lines that CutStudio recognizes to send the roland.
