i've been using cutstudio alone for a while now with my gx-24, so i know how it works. i want to start learning how to do the same thing in illustrator.
someone sent me an .eps file (illustrator) that they want cut. how do i take the vector information and send it to custstudio to cut properly? is it basically the same thing as tracing + cutting in cutstudio alone? when i click the layer, it just selects a giant box, so i think i have to trace the image. any information would be greatly appreciated!
the best way to see what will be sent to cut studio plugin is by looking at your file by: view>outline. this basically shows you the same thing that the plugin does but in illustrator.
remember that type has to be converted to outlines: type>convert to outlines. and if they are stroked, then go to object>outline stroke. you'll have to look at everything before sending it to the plugin with view>outline because sometimes paths are overlapped and you'll get unwanted cut lines if you don't convert them or delete them etc.
i don't know why you don't see the file in you cut studio plugin. make sure you have the right setting: view all lines.
