Default polytwill cutting then sewing.....do you have to?

am wondering what the deal is.

i know how to cut the polytwill. i know you have to sew it to attach permanently. but do you have to place that piece of white fabric on the reverse side of your garment? i don't know what it's called but i have a couple of jackets that had emroidery done on them and one is a hoodie and it has a piece of heavy white fabric on the inside of the garment. do you need this when doing polytwill? -thanks for any help.

No, you do not have to have that on the inside. A lot of places use it to reinforce the garment. But it is not going to hurt you to not have it.

I sew poly twill on tee shirts, jackets, and sweat shirts with a home sewing machine, since 1986, and i haven't ever used a backing inside the garment.
