I have a Roland Stika Cutter SV-15, it is 1 month old. I am using the Roland cut studio software that came with the cutter.
I am about to pull my hair out. It is acting crazy and I am too crazy to fix it!!! It was working fine, just started acting up a few days ago, I have ruined so much vinyl it isn't even funny. It almost acts like it is cutting too fast. I load the vinyl, make sure it is cut even, smooth and tight. It pulls the vinyl in and starts cutting then it will start rippling which is causing the lines to be off.
I tried cutting just one word, 2 inch letters, messed up, tried cutting basketballs messed up 3 times. But had cut basketballs the day before... I drew this image in photoshop to show you an example of what I am getting.
I had the exact wording on each side: Savage with the word baseball under it then a baseball in the center. (3 seperate "designs") The design was 4 inches high. I cut the vinyl to 7 inches to see if maybe I was cutting the vinyl too short. Loaded the cutter and one side cut fine and the other side, exact wording did not... after this I got mad enough to stop trying and came home.
Like I said, it was working fine. I have checked the blade, cut my vinyl longer, I don't know what to do.... HELP!
i have a 12 inch roland and when my ripples it is because the blade is cutting too strongly...does that make sense? Too much pressure. it is a fine line with the blades. not sure what material u are using, that may help someone else answer too.
Thanks for the reply... I am using ThermoFlex Plus. So are you saying change the length of the blade, shorten it? Would that determine pressure? I will play with it some more, I have changed it a few times but I will try anything! It had me confused because it cut fine on the left side of the vinyl and it was sloppy on the right side....
yea, i only use video flex from siser, it is way more forgiving than any of the others. i would adjust my blade. i go from heat transfer vinyl to car vinyl and the different thickness require adjustment. adjust and work on some scrap vinyl with just the word test until u figure out the right tension.
