Getting a logo to cut on a plotter?
I was wondering what all you need to do to a logo in order to get it to work with a vinyl plotter?
Thanks

Re: Getting a logo to cut on a plotter? Logo needs to be vectorized- or in other words: converted from pixels to lines and arcs.

Re: Getting a logo to cut on a plotter? what do you mean 'won't cut'...does that mean nothing will cut..partially cut or just won't cut anything. BTY you need you logo to be in one color..or else have software that will let you cut different colors as the logo shows..
what cutter, what connection..serial or USB or? and the software...one that came with the cutter or 3rd party?

Re: Getting a logo to cut on a plotter? You need to vectorize it and punch or crop the elements as needed.
I mean, if you have a car and you want to make it one color and you want to see trough the windows, then you need to punch the windows. You cant have objects in clipping masks or inside other items as they wont cut properly or not cut at all.
Am I making sense?

Re: Getting a logo to cut on a plotter? Make sure you have all your fills turned off. I have sent files to my cutter and they did nothing than I looked again and forgot to turn off fills.
One other thing. If you look in wire frame mode you will see all the cut lines. You may need to do some clean up work on the files so they don't cut where is's not supposed to.
