Default prob. w/ signblazer...

okay, so i drew something out and scanned it. sent it thru vector magic, and saved it as .EPS. copied and pasted it to the SBD files folder for signblazer.

opened the sign blazer program and went to import:

clicked and opened the file i wanted to cut,

so now, i hit the cut button and no image appeared. just a number one in a huge box.

can someone please guide me thru this? i also have illustrater cs3 and photoshop if that info helps.

The vector is in two colors, so make sure both are selected in the top left hand corner of the cut layout screen. To do so, hold down the CTRL key, and click whichever color has the red X on it, so there are no more red X's.

Don't you have use the vectorize tool on objects imported into SB before you can cut?

Not if the file is already vectorized like in this case.

Inda Bebe did you fix the problem yet? You may want to try this: With your image up in SB. right click and drag a box over the image. Then go up in to the toolbar under "arrange" and click "convert to curves", then go back into "arrange" and click "combine all objects" then go back into "arrange" and click "total weld-weld all objects." That has always worked for me. If you still have questions, the US Cutter website has a SB forum that is very helpful.

Are you trying to contour cut? With which cutter?

You mean the contour cut line is not lining up?

You can adjust the redeye offset values for contour cuts that are misaligned.

ok - My turn
I am importing the files but when I try to save as curves I get it cannot because it is a bitmap. I am using a .ai saved in ai8. Also It wont vectorize because it is not monocrome. Can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong. I have AI c3 and I am importing a .eps file to .ai and then saving in .ai
I 'm lost What files can I use that are not bitmap? I only used the program so far with text and I am trying to get a couple last min gifts done. I can create/save in .eps, tiff, .png, jpg, gif, .a1 - probably more, just those ones I use most.
Your help is greatly appriciated!

In SignBlazer, a bitmap needs to be set to Monochrome before it will vectorize. To do so, Click on Image, then go to Mode, then Monochrome. Then you can go back to Image, then Vectorize.
