Red face what do you think about owning multiple cutters?

I would say when I settle doing it full time, I am going to purchase another just as a stand by. I plan to go to trade shows, and I am going to take two setups just in case. I have had my USCutter for going on...I dunno 2 years and I have really enjoyed it and it hasn't failed me yet. However, with any brand it can happen, and I don't want to be half the country away with no machine.

Rob that's why I purchased another one, for the price you can't beat it as an insurance policy. I don't move mine out of the shop, but if it broke down I'd be screwed as mine is used 8 hrs a day every day.

If I was you,I would keep one at home and 1 at the shop. This way you can work around the clock.Oh yeah that would mean you would need double vinyl. ..... JB

Great point! I just assume move the TV out of my bedroom and move a vinyl cutter in it's place. My best idea's come during the night.

I was going to do that, but I basically design here at home and then email myself the design to the store and cut there. If I put the extra cutter here I'd probably end up not wanting to go to the shop during the day and that wouldn't bode well with the wife.

I am also looking at buying a vinyl cutter for t-shirt transfers and lettering. I am considering a us cutter 24/25 inch cutter. I have silk screened my transfers for years but never used a cutter. I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me. Buck1.

Yea like we David and I have said before you cannot beat the USCutters for the price. They are easy to learn with, and you aren't breaking the bank while you are doing it. They have a good support forum, and a following that is growing every day I feel like. Parts are also reasonably priced and easy to find on the website....it's truly a win win.

I mostly set up at events such as baton twirling contests, cheerleading contests and roller skating contests so I need a cutter which can be moved and set up at different locations. I dont know anything about a cutter but like the price of us cutter machines if they will take the wear and tear of being moved around, buck1

I've been wanting to get an engraver for quite some time, what do you currently have? My main problem is I want a nice 4'x8', but can't really afford it, and the $2000'ish desktop models I don't think can do all the things I'd be wanting to do (mainly engrave and cut acrylic, not just e-stock).

I have an old engraver but they still make the brand.. Its a phoenix 1212 Phoenix 1212 Rotary Engraver by Vision Engraving Systems with a 12x12 inch engraving table area.

It is a 12" X 12" Rotary engraver.. Ours is realllllllllllly old.. like 14 years or so.. It runs on a computer that works on windows 95 lol..
they are great machines and we do quite well with it..
we only engrave the romar type plastic.. for name plates and door plates etc.. they are real money makers
