If i try hard i can peel off my vinyl, it is quite tough though, my question is, is this normal?
I expected it to be totally welded to the cotton?
Using mulberry designs hotflex vinyl, 180c for 15 seconds at light/pressure here in bankrupt UK.
any advice appreciated,
Really, how long , I dont want to dry the glue out.
Thanks for the welcome, I have just moved over to vinyl T's from mug pressing, and i know why they call it
mug pressing now, you had to be a mug to do it.
I have shirts that look like they are worn out and the vinyl looks brand new. I always pre press the shirt, then press the design and then re-press for about half of the time again. This process has never failed me. ..... JB
Me too, the text does not want to stick at all tried different temperatures.Bold logos seem to stay, tried pressing again for another 15 seconds but still no good. I'm using vinyl on 100% cotton t-shirts.
What kind of press do you have? Do you have an infared thermometer you can check the temp of your platen with? If not I recommend getting one and checking it.
Also as JB said I'd pre-press the shirt for about 10-15 seconds to get any moisture out of it before you press the vinyl onto it.
No vinyl should pretty much become part of the shirt, I could pick at mine all day and not be able to lift it up.
What kind of t-shirts you using? I'm afraid it's not going to be the shirts. Do an experiment, try an old shirt you have laying around that is 100% cotton or 50-50 blend and see how the vinyl does on it.
