Smile General Question about vinyl

Peace
does anyone have a guide to using a vinyl cutter with t-shirt transfer paper. Is there a way that you can print your design out on transfer paper and then cut that same design out with a vinyl cutter? Peace

There are two different meanings of optical eye/sensor as applied to cutters. 1. the sensor that determines the size of the media by rolling the media across it whole length, th eoptical sensor detects when the light hit thereby determining that the media has reach its end, this data is then stored in memory so that the cutter does not exceed this point. 2. An optical sensor in conjunction with a laser that actually locate the pressence of a REGISTER ( circular print that signifies a demarkation point ). The laser emits a beam and the optical sensor receives the reflected beam from the media that tells the cutter where the bounderies are of your printed media, this helps the cutter locate the cutting point you programmed in the software. this process is known as "contour cutting".

Contour cutting is the feature that you are looking for, one such machine is the gx-24 by roland, graphtec also makes a few but i'm not familiar with their models.

If you do a search in youtube using gx-24 as search criteria, you will find a demo of the contour cutting feature. Good luck.

You can cut a design out of vinyl or print with transfer paper as long as it is not a photo. .... JB

Nope i own a Seikitech as well and it's not capable of doing the Contour cutting. Pretty good for just cutting vinyl though.

Since you are using Flexi Pro you should be able to do a trace of the graphic and then cut it in vinyl. You will probably have to do some clean up depending on the original graphic, but it is possible.

You can't do it,i tried when i first got it and you can't these are very low end cutters from Sunie.com that are not capable of contour cutting.

You can cut Heat press vinyl and Decals,Signs and so on ,But like COEDS said you can't contour cut around inkjet transfers.

So yes you can cut t-shirt vinyl for t-shirts with it.

Also if you want to try out some samples this place sells by the foot for around $3 buks check them out Heat Applied transfer vinyl for t-shirt applications
