i'm new to t shirt making...do i need a vinyl cutter if i have an artist making original designs for shirts? or do i use heat transfer paper?
if i need a cutter, what would be simple enough to use that would allow me to make smaller size prints. we're thinking babies/little kid size t shirts.
It really depends on the type of artwork that is going to be produced. Vinyl cutters are good for simple one, two, maybe three color designs without alot of detail. It is not good for any design that has shadings or gradients in the design or anything resembling a photograph. Unless, you have the capability to print / cut with an optical eye.
There are smaller cutters out there (Craft Robo) for smaller sized designs that will run between $500 & $1000.
