I have been asked to do the cutesy clings on cars and mailboxes. What type of vinyl do you use for these? They will have to be applied by the people that purchase them, so I didn't think the Oracle was probably a very good choice. Give me some ideas as to where to find the vinyl as well. Thanks for the help.
Static cling is easier, only because it's not permanent once applied.
That's also it's biggest failing! LOL If you wanted to put it on a mailbox and have it last, you would definitely want something that's adhesive and permanent....ergo: use the Oracal.
It all depends on what you want the finished product to do for you or your customers. Applying smaller sized decals isn't hard to get the hang of, and if you include instructions, then your customers shouldn't have any problems. Just stress to them that preparation of the surface is the key to a good installation!
I think that is also what I am struggling with. Would you place the tape over the item and send it to them that way and just explain to lift and carefully place it where you want it and then rub it with a popsicle stick or something to adhere it? I guess I've always been the one to do the steps and worried I will end up getting myself in a mess because someone can't follow directions.
you can have someone take a picture of you doing it..
yes i would tape them to send to the customer .. If its cut vinyl stickers.. (printed stickers depend on the size or shape if they are taped)
Also.. when i seperate the viny/tape from the backing center.. I always have it laying face down on the table.. and actually am removing the backing from the app. tape and vinyl instead of removing the tape/vinyl from backing paper .. (hope that makes sense)
also i tell people to use a credit card to appy lol.. it bends a bit more then a popcycle stick
