Default Problems with my JSI-P-24 cutter

Hey all,
I have a jsi-p-24 cutter and usually cut smaller stuff for shirts and window decals.

The other day I was cutting some 14x28 designs for a truck window job and had absolutely now problems.

Then I tried to cut a 24x75 lettering for a banner for my own use. I went into the signblazer software and set up the cutter to cut that size and it only cut about a third of the lettering and then just stopped.

I thought ok, I moved my blade and forgot to hit the reset button. So, I cut off the mistake, positioned my blade and hit the reset button. Started cutting and got the the very exact same spot on the lettering and it quit again!

I contacted tech support for my cutter but I only had like 30 days of free support and haven't heard back from them.

Any suggestions? Maybe someone else with one of these cutters has had the same problem?

I cut out some hat sized designs with 8 designs/foot and it cut like gangbusters.

Thanks
Craig

You need to set the cutting to the size of the project.

Are you using a USB cable?

Thanks for the replies. I've been out in the hay field today and hadn't had a chance to try out the cutter. Lou, I think you mean the size of the entire project and not just the size of the lettering? I'll try that 'cause I just set it for the size of the lettering not the entire project.

Ken, I'm using the usb serial port adapter cord.

Thanks guys. I've got orders to get out tomorrow before heading out the the hay field again so I will try again in the morning.

Craig

Craig if you are trying to get tech support from Sign Blazer I'm afraid you may not ever get a reply. Since Jerry passed away (GOD rest his soul) the company has went downhill and now I hear they are trying to sell the company. Also their website for tech support email has been suspended. I am trying to figure out a way to get my software re-registered.

It's a shame because there are ALOT of people who just started using their software and now it looks like they are not going to support it anymore.

The new entity that purchases the rights to SignBlazer should pick up where Jerry left off. That is the impression we get from our contacts at this point, but still we are playing it by ear.

I didn't know that! Sorry to hear about that. It's always a shame to see someone pass and then the stuff they accomplished go down the drain.

I tried resizing in setup to the size of the project and it went the the exact same spot and hung up again. I redesigned the banner and will try cutting tomorrow.

I guess if I can't get it to cut I'll have to either get different software or a different cutter. Bummer!

Thanks
Craig
