Check with Josh/Imprintables in a week or so....they are coming out with a vinyl with holes like some of the performance garments....next problem....how are we going to match up the holes!
I think matching the holes will be a trick, but the vinyl will breath and makes thingd cooler. The eco-film is a real thin material that will be light enough for the netting. I also suggest you check with Roger at Heat Applied transfer vinyl for t-shirt applications he carries some thin vinyl too. ..... JB
The shirts I'm talking about don't have netting, or big holes. They are polo's and tees but aren't the type you're thinking of. I'm talking about shirts like the sport-tek shirts by Port Authority.
I think the perf stuff wil be best, but I have done those shirts with regular vinyl. I use Sanmar products for a high percentage of my order. .... JB
Yep, these are from SanMar.
What is the new vinyl with the holes called. I'm going to order vinyl tonight for my new cutter but didn't see it in the Imprintables site. I may not have looked hard enough though.
But what about applying high heat to the polyester. If using dark shirts, will you have discoloration. There were some posts where someone was pressing on the sport-tek poly shirts and they had problems. May have been higher heat. I believe the vinyl presses at 320 for 15 seconds.

Eco-Film goes on at 305 degrees for 8 seconds at a medium to firm pressure.
I cannot guarantee each shirt, but I haven't experienced discoloration on any the fabrics that I've tested.
If there is an issue you could use a teflon pillow underneath or a low density thermal pad - this is what we recommended when testing polypro bags which have similar issues.
i think you should be fine though as I have a lot of customers doing this style of garment.
I used to use Hotmark 70 , dwell time was 330 degres for 20 seconds and never had a issue. I used it on compression fit shirts like the under armour and never had ant issues. The ecofilm sems to be a little thinner than the Hot mark. ..... JB
Greg I have three heat press tools I use with vinyl or plastisol. I use a flexpad ( a silcon sheet with texture,it puts the texture on the vinyl and helps push into the fiber.). I use this on my second press after I remove the cover sheet. I purchased this at Ace Transfer Company, Inc. and Tee Square It for alignment and the tee pad it ( they help for working around zippers and buttons). ..... JB
