Re: how to price 1 color decals Always be leery of customers that say they tend to purchase on an ongoing basis. Typically those that say that upfront are using it as a bargaining tool to lower your prices on the initial order.
Bid your job with a fair price and good quality with excellent customer service and he will be back. Dont undercut your prices based on a promise of future business. Let your customer establish himself FIRST, then offer discounts based on his good customer history.
Figure your materials cost and labor (shop rate) and stick to your guns. If you do quality work even with a fair profit built in you'll do great. but again - don't undercut yourself on price based on a promise!!
I charge $8.00 a square foot for single layer simple decals. Extra time weeding difficult decals will cost more time, therefore increased cost. I'll offer a discount on quantity orders but ONLY offer additional good customer discounts to clients that have a proven track record with me.
don't forget to charge a design fee up front even if the customer offers you vector art. there is ALWAYS some worj that you need to do to prep the design to cut. I have a $15.00 minimum and charge our shop rate of $45hr for design services. I keep the art for 6 months.
hope this helps.
