Have you done the research on different models already. Do you know what you are looking for? Things like are you looking for one with an optical eye? If you already know all that, than a great place to start shopping is the Preferred Vendors list on the left. Some of them offer a 5% member discount to tsf members. If you look at the bottom of the page of prefered vendors, you'll see the discount links. From there, it's alot easier to compare prices on the net. If you are looking for used, there are sometimes good auctions on Ebay, or equipment on Craigslist. Good luck to you, Kelly
I purchased a P-Cut from US Cutters and it works OK, great for the money.. But their customer service and tech help definately lacks.. It normally takes 3days up to 1 week for a single response.
I personally think you are better off buying a older used Roland from Ebay or Craigs list, or a forum like this and it may cost you a 100 or so more but it is well worth the money and they last forever!! We did a survey a while back and only 2 out of 10 people who purchased the P-Cut machines and stayed in the business, kept their machine for more than 1 year before upgrading to a higher quality machine.
I think buying a new inexpensive cutter is better than a older used machine. I know US cutter has a great forum and many members are there to help. I know it is a small company, but they really seem to be trying to satisfy their customers needs. I agree with upgradeing your equipment as time and money allows. I think new is better than used . .... JB

You did a survey with who? US Cutter hasn't even been selling PCut's for a yr. BTW, I've had my refine for 2 yrs and am still in business and business is good.

Ohhh, great! Now you tell me.
Just kidding, JB
It should ship by tomorrow. I'm hoping it even turns on... lol. Once I get passed that, its a matter of elbow grease to learn how to work it...
For others in the thread. I just bought an older Graphtec FC 2100. I'll let you know, if you want me to, how it works out once it's set up and running (lol - It Better Run ).
Kelly I'm sure you will be fine with the graphtec. You seem to be a quick study person. I expect you to be producing quality garments and signs 4 hours after you get it out of the box. .... JB
hey back to the subject is a Calcomp Techjet 720C any good??? and with a vinyl plotter can i also just print large scale items and prints on regular paper??
Ive been speaking with Ken Imes from US cutter and they are working on their customer support and have hired a couple of new people. Ive had a couple of issues that were not taken care of right away but this is because why and he has contacted me personally, apolagized and made things right. If your in the market for a inexpensive cutter, I dont think you can beat purchasing one from them. I have a older Roland and unless Im cutting something small, I prefer to use the P-Cut because on most things larger than 1" tall it cuts real nice and much faster than the older Roland. I recently purchased a new Graphtec CE7000 and we will are selling the Roland and have decided to keep the P-Cut for a spare. Good luck with your purchase!!
The Graphtec FC2100-50 I bought, I bought inexpensively on Ebay. The cutter is awesome, I hear from our friends here (thanks, guys for the help), and I picked it up inexpensively on Ebay for $268 with the shipping (priority shipping and it is 60 pounds.)
So we've never been off topic/subject. Ebay is another place to get a cutter inexpensively. Not knowing much about cutters, it was super fabulous to have our friends here to guide me through the purchase and bidding. I do have to pick up a blade holder for it, but that should be about $50'ish. Still a good deal according to our friends here. Thanks again, folks, especially Mystysue.
I hope you find a good cutter, good deals can be had. Best regards, Kelly
