I'm using some VideoFlex heat press vinyl from coastal business. This is where I need some help understanding. It seems to have a low tack backing. It seems to me to be very difficult to weed because the cut parts want to pull up as well as the weeding parts. Is it because of the low tack or because I did not cut deeply enough?

I did use Videoflex with no problems at all.
I used 60g force. Are your fonts/artwork small?
It seems to be a little bit tricky to weed small fonts.
Small fonts are a pain. I advise you to weed very slow and make sure not to lose any of the design.I wouuld try another vinyl with a stickier mylar. I bought some vinyl once and had that same isssue. I switched to other vinyl and the issue is gone. I think vinyl choice is really a personal prefference. I have used some stuff from Plan b and from Josh and I like them both. I used to use Hotmark 70 and it worked gret too. Good luck . ..... JB
Thanks. I think the vinyl with more tack works better also. Maybe I should have cut a little deeper as well.
I have another question, when cutting something out like a car, how do you know what to weed? I've messed up two today.
start weeding at the outside and work in....it's easier to tell what to weed out and what to leave in that way!
i also prefer a vinyl with a higher tack mylar - i've weeded incredibly small, detailed graphics & text and rarely pull up something i don't intend to. i use multicut from joto paper.

Probably both. I will not use low tack or tackless backing vinyl.

I ALWAYS PRINT OUT MY IMAGE ON PAPER. BLACK STAYS WHITE GOES.
Thanks again to everyone. I continue to learn more each day. Then I wake up and figure out a whole bunch of other stuff I don't know!
How do you know what vinyl has more tack, or is easier to use? I'm thinking trial and error is going to get pretty frustrating.
Hey Midwaste, I like the LP 24. It's my first cutter and it has been gentle with me. The marking idea might be tough, some of the areas to weed can be small. The cutter software cuts weeding lines as well. The material was a tad difficult due to low tack on the backing, everything peeled up very easy, even parts of the design came off the backing.
Just go slow and easy and take deep breaths and you will be fine. I also hold the problem area down while I weed around it. .... JB
Thanks JB, That's what I've been doing. On the Videoflex I lost some design pieces before I knew it. Ordered some Easyweed last night, sticky backing, it should work easier. I'll save the Videoflex for larger designs, like large numbers or letters.
