If you can find a good used Roland GX 24 it would be worth buying. I seen them on Ebay for sale. I advise you to try to buy a demo or just get a new one. The ones sold on Ebay go for almost the price That Vinyl Cutters, heat presses, heat transfer material, transfer papers and heat printing supplies all at affordable prices. sales them for, plus you get full factory warrenty and some added vinyl for you to experiment with. I'm a big fan of buying new and buying quality. I know you pay more, but you also know that what you are buying is backed by a full guarantee. I fell this is worth the added cost.
If you are buying used to save money then you could buy a less expensive cutter to get started with and upgrade later. There are some good cutters in the market for a modest price. The Gcc cutters sold at Heat Applied transfer vinyl for t-shirt applications and the UScutter brand are both examples of a good modest priced cutter..... JB

I have also looked at the US cutter models and have noticed the one that do the contour cuts, any thoughts on those.
I have a stika 12 about 3-4 years old and which I got back then for doing names and numbers as well as short runs of shirts but I found myself doing signs and much more and like that versatility. The stika still works great and has done more than I am sure it was ever intended.
Thanks for the help
