How to print the design and still have cut lines and registration Marks for gx-24
How to print the design and still have cut lines and registration Marks for gx-24
I have Corel and a Gx-24 Roland.
How do I get the registration marks into my design?
If I hit my plug in for cut studio,my cuts get transfered but how do I still print my color design and have it still line up?
Once I'm in Cut Studio, I can hit the print and cut option and the registration marks pop up but The print only prints the cut lines, instead of the color.
Funny that once I figure this out it will be so obvious : )

You might need to have the design / color portion selected as well. I don't use the plug-in, so I am not 100% for sure. You can always create your cut lines in CutStudio as well. Let us know if you need instructions on how to do that.

I tried to copy and paste and other options but I'm missing something that I know is so simple.
A good example would be to print and then cut JPSS. I know it's been done.
I've printed and pressed JPSS but when I go to use my GX-24 to cut the window down to size, I can't get the printer and cutter to match up.
Maybe it has to do with file formats for the copy anf paste or something?

So I made her a sticker and she said, "But it's not green" and I said yes, but I'll sell you this stcker for $1. She liked the sticker so much that she ran off and came back with $1.
Then I help up the dollar and told her that I just made $1 and she said ......Oh : )
Anyway,
The videos are awesome and it's more help than I expected but not my cuts don't match my print.
I import just like you did in your video as a jpeg.
I use Cut Studio print and cut option and use Cut Studio to find the outline.
On the screen the print and cutlines look perfect but when I actually print and then cut, the cut lines are off.
I can see me GX-24 find the registration marks and it goes to work but it's off.

Oh, am I ever glad to have seen this post. I've been trying to work out the same problem for weeks.
I'll be even more grateful if someone can post the problem-solver!!!
I was actually thinking that the problem might be originating somewhere between ....
computer - printer / printer - cutter, but actually I'd really have no clue because my GX-24's a new edition to my family.

Dog and Donna,
Can you please explain in more detail what exactly is the problem you are incurring? How far off is the cutter from the graphic? Let us know what version of the Roland GX-24 driver you are running as well.

Hi Mark
I hope this is what you're after.....I am using the "version 1.6" of the software for the Roland GX-24. I've only had the machine for a number of weeks. It works fine when just cutting but when i want it to cut eg. print on transfer paper it seems to start off ok but then gets a little bit more off of the text as the paper feeds through in the cutting process. ie. it ends up being off the text more and more as it progresses.
Sort of ummm... going off on the diagonal as well as the horizontal....if you know what I mean. (not sure if I do now, I'm confusing myself.
Someone was helping me at the time and I think he was using CorelDraw to create the text. design.
When I was doing the cutting with vinyl (no t/f paper) I used "CutStudio" - no probs.
thanks again.
I really should be asleep now, It's after 3am in Adelaide. zzzzzzz ZZZZZZZ nighty night.

Donna,
First off...GO TO BED and get some good rest.
1. I would double check is make sure that your rollers are on the transfer paper on both sides and that the registration dots are inside the rollers. The rollers need to be aligned with the white pieces of tape that are shown on the rail right above the rolls. These pieces of tape tell you were the grip rollers are below the paper. If you align it off of the grip rollers, you will not get proper feed action.
2. Make sure your design fits within the registration dots. Otherwise, the software will not cut them.
These are two of the common answers to problems with the GX-24. Let us know if this answers your challenges.

I was going crazy and thought that I had a bad Roland.
I also thought that maybe I had my printer printing the image slightly larger by accident.
It was just like you said.... by the end of the cut is was off by a lot (1/2 in to 1 in) compared to where the print was.
Anyway, I am totally fixed now!!! After days of error, this is what I did:
#1. I re-started my computer. I don't know if this had anything to do with fixing my problem but I never turn off my computer. I got so frustrated that I thought....ok, lets shut everything down and start from scratch.
#2. I was bringing my image into Cut Studio the wrong way. I have Corel and I didn't know what to do. I tried copy and paste from Corel. I tried converting the file to AI in Corel because I couldn't find JPEG as an option.
Everything started working right when I:
a.) learned how to save the file as a JPEG.
b.) Openned Cut Studio and used the Import function to bring the image into Cut Studio.
So do you have your file saved as a JPEG and do you use the Import function in Cut Studio?
Funny how off track I got but I didn't have anyone to show me the way untill I found this forum : )
It was Mark's Videos that helped the most.
