Default US cutter any good?

I have been looking to buy a vinyl cutter. I keep seeing a brand called "US cutter" on ebay. can anyone tell me if this is worthy of a starter or a total piece of crap? Any help would be appreciated.

I have owned both a USCutter machine and a Roland. While the Roland is certainly my preference, I wouldn't say that it is 5 times better. The USCutter machines work and they are a great value. The only real issue is probably with the documentation. Fortunately, USCUtter has it's own forums that can answer any question not adequately explained in the documentation.

I would not hesitate to recommend one of these machines for someone wanting to get his/her feet wet who can't afford a $1500+ cutter. Do a search on this board for USCutter and you'll find a lot of good info.

I have heard great things about the UScutter brand. I own a Roland and a gcc machine. They are great machines too. I think I respect UScutter because they have a loyal customer base and they work together to help each other on their own company sponsored website. I know this is strongly supported by the company, but the customers are thei to help too. They must be a good company if their customers are this loyal. ..... JB

I bought the PTcut 630 uscutter first and then stepped up to the Roland. The us cutter is a good cutter for getting started it does have some communication issues though. But I must admit my favorite is the roland Gx24. Good Luck

my didn't have any communication issues at all. it has been running since day one. communications issues r not from the cutters, it's through ur compute system which everybody has a different sys. but if using the serial port, which is the best WAY and i suggest u have one. there r no problems. i plan one day to get a graphtec which us cutters now stock or a roland gx. but because of the outstanding uscutter forum i will purchase it from them.
