What other cutters/plotters have an optic eye option?
I really like GX-24 but it is out of my budget right now.
i also like Graphtec Craft ROBO 8.5" Multi-Media Cutter Plotter with Automatic Registration Mark Sensor but it only works with 8x11 sheets with cutting area of 6x8 which is way too small...
is there any other recommended cutter within $600 range which has an automatic registration mark sensor?
any help/recommendation on this topic will be highly appreciated...
my main purpose is going to be trimming an opaque transfer paper... not the vinyl yet
Re: What other cutters/plotters have an optic eye option?
You could get craft robo cutter or a p cut. I have heard people talke about them. I just want to add the GX 24 is a great machine. I saved for a while to get one and I'm really happy with it. ..... Jb

i was just looking at those but they dont have the optic eye option... and without that, contour cutting is not as gud and easy as they r with an optic eye option...
although craft robo has it, its cheaper (299 at speciality graphics supply) but very small cutting area (6x8), and craft robo pro is a better version of craft robo and cost 949 at the same store.

yeh i know... i have been checking on ebay... there's only one from uk right now but will cost me more thn the newer one.
i've been thinking of buying a chinese model, its called rabbit hx 720... it will only cost me 450, it doesnt have the optic eye option tho... but it can perform contour cutting by aligning the paper right... it does need practice tho...
Re: What other cutters/plotters have an optic eye option?
There have been some posts about the rabbit hx. No drivers and poor instruction. Check on support and be sure to ask what really comes with it. Nice to save money but you want a system that works and has support if it does not.

i have a local guy selling hx 720. i have checked tht threat and ppl were having installation issues... aparently it doesnt work with usb port, although it does have usb port option.
which is why ill take my laptop to him, n tell him to get it work on my laptop using usb port. ill also give him complex images to perform contour cutting on. if i like wut i see thn ill buy it. other wise i have no obligation on buying something tht sounds too fishy in the first place
PS: There is a thread going on testing the copam, gx-24, and graphtec on differences of what you get for the money, and they are tossing this cutter into the testing, as well. Here's a link: https://www.t-shirtforums.com/vinyl-...tml#post256093
I'm patching you in to where the first three cutters show up.

hey kelly...
yes, im aware of it, it can perform contour cutting... actually, almost all cutters can perform contour cutting...
but are they all precise? i doubt it... only the optic eye option which is in graphtec robo pro and roland gx24 has, can cut with precision and they r the top of the line cutters...
other cutters like laserpoint, copam, made in china models... they can perform contour cutting but very hard to do on them... n they dont look professional at all...
n since im in transfer paper business... (not the vinyl yet) i decided to buy gx24... ill have to wait on my savings tho
Re: What other cutters/plotters have an optic eye option?
I bought the Roland Stikka SV15. Havnt had a chance to work it yet. Tomorrow is the day I have set aside for testing. I have read the brochure and played a bit with the software. When you print your artwork there are 3 dots that you print with it in the corners of whatever medium you are using. Then you manually line up the dots with the Roland Software. It then cuts out your artwork according to those settings. Well I'm really hoping it works. I actually bought it to cut vynl stencils to stick onto my screens to do small screenprint runs.
I friend of mine who has the big cutter helped me out and cut a stencil for me to screen 3 shirts. It worked really well. I dont think you can do intricate screens with it and not for big runs.
