Default vinyl and ribbed shirts

How well does vinyl and a ribbed shirt go together ?
Will the ribs keep the vinyl from being pressed on good in the in-between space ?

THanks
Mark

I would not use vinyl on a ribbed shirt. It does not strectch and could cause peeling.Lou

I am with Lou on this one,, not only because of the stretch it will bunch up the shirt where the ribs are and makes it look very strange.

Thanks guys.
So what method is best used for decorating the ribbed shirts ?
And does it work with all the different ribbed sizes (1x1,2x1, etc)

THanks
Mark

I wouldn't give up on ribbed shirts just yet. Imprintables Warehouse offers a product called Spectra Elasticut that's made for that type of application. It's a stretchy material that can stretch up to two times it's original size and rebound back to it's original form.

The best part is the product is actually on sale right now so it wont be too expensive to try it out. Go to imprintables.com and check out the Overstock Sale.

To get this out of the way now, I do work at Imprintables Warehouse (with Josh). Just don't want any confusion down the line

Just to let you know up front, I can't say the Elasticut is the easiest material to work with, but it's not too bad. And, it is the only option that I'm aware of for ribbed shirts

Hope this helps!!

I have a lot of customers who use the the standard films on ribbed shirts (like american apparel).

It would be best to look for a film that has slight strectch to it - probably a polyurethane based material as opposed to a PVC.
