what types of cutters are avaliable for opaque transfers

any link/info on the cutters is needed.
Thanks in advance.
Re: what types of cutters are avaliable for opaque transfers
Ite depends on your price range which one you would want to look at. No matter what your price is, you will need one with an optical eye. that is how the cutter know where to cut.
We have 2 Roland GX-24s and have used them daily for over 2 years with no issues at all. You can find them at Roland's website, Improntables Wharehouse, Sign Wharehouse etc.
Re: what types of cutters are avaliable for opaque transfers
I can't recommend the GX-24 enough for someone wanting to contour cut inkjet transfers. If there is ANY way for you to get this machine instead of a less expensive machine, you will be very happy with it.
There is a $420 US Cutter LaserPoint, but the process is much more involved. If transfers are your business and you do a lot of them, I would suggest that you stay away from more manual registration mark sensing machines like this one and the Graphtecs.
The Roland is fully-automatic and makes life MUCH simpler for contour cutting.
Re: what types of cutters are avaliable for opaque transfers
I would love a GX24, but had to make some hard decisions and got a Craft Robo. Yes, it's a hobbyist unit and I say nasty things to it several times a day, but it has an optical eye (not the best by far) and cuts my opaque transfer well enough. If you have the money, you can't go wrong with a GX24...I drool over them several times a year. If you're just getting started and budget limited, a Craft Robo will do...repeat, "Will do." But it's a starter unit at best...a GX24 is in my future, just can't get there quite yet. If you can afford it, get a commercial unit...if not, you make due. The pesky Craft Robo has paid for itself 100 times over and still I can't wait to see it retired.

LOL thankx... I have also seen many GX24 tutorials on Youtube and i just love it, but i have the same problem, i cant quite afford it yet...
i'll go check the Craft Robo as well... how much is it anyway?
Re: what types of cutters are avaliable for opaque transfers
Specialty Graphics Supply has a special going on for $299.00, plus there's a 5%, I believe, forum members discount (look to the left of the screen.) They also give you 10% off all supplies for 30 days after a purchase. Their good people to work with. If I had a few more nickles in my pocket I'd buy me a GX-24 and you could have this one for the price of shipping it to you...alas, that will need to wait till the fall.
Re: what types of cutters are avaliable for opaque transfers
Opaque was one of the reasons I just ordered the Roland GX24. As many of the transfers will be larger than 12"x12" I need something large enough to handle that size.
