what is the best paper trimming method? Old fashion paper trimmer? or a rotary trimmer.. the new ones on the market?.. what brand on both types is the best out there.. or which brand do you use? size 12" 18" need to buy one..
I have two rotary trimmers and don't really like em. Unfortunately, I have a hard time finding the old guillotine type cutters like what I used to use in school. I've used mine mainly for cutting photographs down to size from a 8.5x11 to whatever is needed, I usually have to do two passes to cut one piece of paper.
thanks Joe,
I kinda figured that.. I'm looking into buying the old school paper trimmers.. like in grade school.. self sharpinge blade...solid wood base.. Some people like the new rotary paper trimmers.. alot cheaper too.. but for some reason I'm stuck on the old school one thanks,
V.

Interesting. I'm one of those that prefers the rotary cutters. Being much lighter is a real benefit for us because it needs to be moved a lot (tiny little apartment). But I also prefer the way it cuts. I can never seem to get a straight cut on an old-fashioned cutter.
Vee, I'm sorry, I don't have any real suggestions on what brand. Fiskars is the only brand that I know of by name for rotary cutters, and I don't know of any brands by name for old-fashioned cutters.
I think office depot has the paper trimmers like they used to use in school..
I also think some of the sign supply companies carry them.. donno what would be more ecconomical.. (sp) ...
My cutter came with the shop when we bought it..
Chani.. i do see your point with the small apt. I would hate to have to move my equipment around to work.. .. Its a pain in the arse.. lol

thanks Sue,
once again.. your my Super Hero!! lol..
I liked working with the one you got.. it seemed sturdy.. its old school but it didnt move anyware.. and I dont think you have to sharpen the blade...
we use both of them.
the rotary cutter for getting nice long straight cuts, and the guillotine for speed, like choping bussines cards that were previously pre-cut in long sheets with the rotary machine.

Hi Chani,
just wanted to re thank you!!! thanks for all you do..
Vee...
Oops! Vee, thank you, but that's not why I PM'd you.
I just wanted to make sure I didn't hurt your feelings or upset you in any way. It's only my paranoia and depression setting in again from something that happened earlier today.
But back on track, have you found the paper cutter you'd like to buy? Which type?
