Default Sizing stick on illustrator?

Hey guys, wondering if you knew how to size the design before you send it out to be cut, the only way I know how is by using the pt thing like the default is 100 pt by 100 pt.

Is there anyway I can do it by inches instead of "pt"?

Thanks

go to edit, preferences and you can change that and more (this is in cs2)

OR

go to view, show rulers. then use the select tool to resize it. u can even draw guides so you know where to stop

Under Window, I open the tranform option; it lets me tranform the design to desired Width and Height

If all your documents are starting with "pt" instead of inches, you need to change your preferences.
