Went to see a UK distributor about a year or so back, one of the better known models. Demo was embarrasing, black print a waste of time, white print was ok (a little flat looking) but took so long to print it really wan't worth the effort. Approx. price of £10k-£12k at that time so no consideration given whatsoever. I ended up contracting out my
DTG work to a local company who had the same printers as I'd seen demo'd. Results were ok but the machines spent more time down, awaiting parts from the US than they were up and running.
My opinion is that given a few more years
DTG will be great, at the moment it just isn't there, quality and speed of print, service etc. With the introduction of Wow from Magic I think there are other ways around
DTG printing, for me, screenprint will always be the favoured option.
