Discuss the various aspects of heat pressed vinyl transfers. Popular and new types of vinyl media, suppliers, vinyl cutters /plotters, press times, quality, how to instructions and more can be found in this heat press sub forum.
Heatpress vinyl is completely different than sign vinyl. Cast and Calendered are sign vinyl products. Thermoflex, Gorilla Grip, Spectra Cut are heatpress vinyls usually with a clear mylar carrier.
Yep...I move through it on a regular basis. Getting tired of weeding the heatpress stuff. Going to be a simple screen set up soon I think. Start playing around with it and some Ulano films.
I have done quite a few signs with sign vinyl, but I bought 6 rolls of vinyl and could not remember what I bought , I bought some of each and I am just starting the heat vinyl, but wanted to make sure that the sign vinyl was the only vinyl with the white on the back, because none of the rolls are marked.
Thanks again for all the replies.
I had posted about the video flex also on another thread, I adjusted the pressure and it at least stuck to the shirt, I gave it to the guy to wash to see if it stays on and then I will know if I can sell him the shirts.
if you're ever unsure if what you're holding is sign vinyl or shirt vinyl - the vinyl itself will tell you! separate a corner of the material from the backer - if the vinyl is sticky - it's sign vinyl - if the liner is sticky, or if neither are, it's shirt vinyl :P
sign vinyl should separate easily from the liner - shirt vinyl shouldn't!
some adhesive sign vinyls from 3M also have a clear mylar backing!
