we have had our versacamm for almost 2 years now..
we dont have a laminator as we havnt quite figured out where to put it.. they are kinda bulky and my shop of 1800 sq ft.. is jsut about out of room.

Mainly I use a product called clearshield.. I laminate with. Its a liquid laminate that comes in gallon contaners for about 70.oo. We put it on with a very fine foam roller..
Things to remember doing this is that you have to have a dust free space. and you have to have an area big enuff to lay the item flat on.. We have 2 work tables we use for this that are 4 ft by 16 ft.
The clearshield protects the product from scratchs and abuse, but the main reason we like it is that it really makes the color pop and they look great.
we laminate all digital banners we produce, that is actually the reason we can charge premium prices for them and have no problem getting what we ask for.
We also laminate most of the digital signs this way also..

I do have lam. material on a roll that I hand laminate using my *big Squeeqee* when that is called for, or i dont have the time to wait over nite for the clear shield to dry..
Banners cannot be laminated with rolled laminate so the clear shield is always the answer for that

If you are going to do car wraps you should use the laminate on a roll that is recomended by the manufacture of the wrap material you are using as that is how the product warrenty works..

hope this helps some
sue

I have a diage 30" quickmount laminator and love it. I doen't take up too much space as I store it under my big work table and when we need it I put it on top. I will have to try that clearshield for banners. sounds like you are getting great results!

I think alot of the sign suppliers carry it..
I have gotten it from both sign mart (sign-mart.com) and ordway (signsupply.com).

there are a few tricks to applying it and would glad to help and advise.

make sure you get the kind that is for the ecosolvent ink..

we have banners that we have used for almost 2 years that we take in out and.. and man handle and they still look brand new .
and the shine is great.. for the appearance
