Default Flock on Polo?

I have a customer that is looking for a couple of shirts embroideried and that's going to be to expensive. I was thinking about doing a flock design instead. Would flock be a good subistute instead of embroidery on a polo shirt.
Thanks

FLock would work on a polo, and depending on your design it can look VERY nice, but it's no direct substitution for embroidery.

Could you print up a sample for them and see if they like it?

Flock looks really good on polos , plush raised look just great stuff, and if its womens stuff you do it can be accented with rhinestones!!!!

Yup, it looks great! But if your customer is expecting embroidery, it's not the same thing. You'd need to show them and ask them if they'd like that.

Thats right Alex not all flock material is the same, I f I were to do a design I would certainly get samples from a few sources and just see which is the best.

Most of my customers who want embroidery are really married to the idea of embroidery. It's nearly impossible to steer these customers to silk screening or cut vinyl.

I'm not sure how a design that's simple enough to cut on vinyl can be too expensive to embroider, unless the design is just so large that the stitch count is what brings the cost up.

If it's a large design, and they want it embroidered on something like a jacket back (something heavy enought to handle it), then I would just quote them on the embroidery.

If it's a large design and they want it on something like a polo, I always tell them "sure I can do it but, even on a 9 oz shirt, an embroidery design that large is going to buckle on a knit shirt after one washing, and it's going to be one expensive shirt. Let me tell you about your other options."

Hope this helps.
