Default Help with mutliple colors and graphics!

Hi! I am new here and have a quick question. I do a lot of home decor with my vinyl cutter mostly like wall sayings that type of thing. but I am wondering how to do more than one color with a picture. For ex. a yello surfboard with a red flower and sand in the background? Is there a certain type of machine or program to do that? Is there a film or something that would transfer one color? Also where do you get a lot of your graphics. For example I want to get a graphic of cherry blossoms. I want this to do in our bedroom? I could really use some help on this and would appreciate any help!

Thanks

I not aware of any software or machine that can do that (I'm new at this myself), but i've done multiple color vinyl graphics on my motorcycle using a technique I "developed".

Create your complete design in your software. I use Illustrator and a Roland GX-24.

Around the edges and/or corners of the design, place a unique shape (I call them "keys") to use later to line up the different color shapes. I like to use a "+" symbol.

Either break up each color (with the keys intact) into its own file, or use the Roland plugin "output selected lines" to send each color shape and keys to the cutter. Be sure not to move the keys!!!

After weeding and applying transfer tape. Use the keys to help align the individual color shapes to assemble the graphic.

This works best using a wet application. I hav not tried it for t-shirts.

don't have any pictures to illustrate the process either.....

If you are looking to put graphics on the walls in a house, you are probably looking at print-cut device that will print on to a wall graphic. Think about the commercials for Fat Heads - removable wall graphics for sports. If you don't want it removable, you can go with an adhesive vinyl. But, ultimately you are probably looking at solvent ink printer. If you do some research on Versacamm, you will see a solution that has a printer and cutter in one device. Hope this helps.
