Default Shirt vinyl costs

Good Morning......

I am toying with the idea of getting into using vinyl for shirts....and upon doing a little digging on shirt vinyl (thermoflex plus) I have found vast differences in pricing for it.......

Where does everyone get their shirt vinyl, what kind do you use, which one is easiest to weed, and what is the typical cost of a 15" x 5' roll of it?

TIA
Margaret

i was a dedicated thermoflex plus user for a long time....until i found multicut from joto paper....it's identical in feel and cut and since the rolls are 20", a better bargain!

Afternoon.....

How about Thermoflex Plus for $15.40 per 5 foot roll? Is it a good price?

And why do you like the joto vinyl better?

um......are you sure about that??? looks more like a price per yard! i haven't bought any thermo in a long time, but it seems that it was $40-something for a 5 yd roll.....15" material

the joto multicut is $45 for a 5 yd roll.....20" material

i love the way the material cuts, weeds and presses - hot peel - first time, every time. no fiddling with sweet spots on the time/temp. plus because it's a wider roll it seems to work out for less waste since more images can be ganged or flipped horizontally to take advantage of the extra width.

tia is my sales rep at joto and she's super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about our industry.

We get our ThermoFlex Plus from Specialty Graphics Supply

They seem to have the best prices of anyone, plus they let you purchase vinyl just a foot at a time if you'd like. It's a little more that way, but better than wasting a 5 yard roll for just a couple of shirts.

I wouldn't mind trying more MultiCut from Joto. It's just that we get everything in 1-2 days from Specialty.

Chani you would get everything from Joto within 2 days too. They have a wharehouse in Washington state and one in Akron, Ohio so surely one of them places would be 2 day delivery for UPS.

I agree Jan, the extra width is what convinced me to use it, well that and you saying how great it was....

I don't think that this is per yard......so it must be a decent deal? All the other places I have looked it was a heck of a lot higher.

I started using themoflex plus pretty good stuff but a little hard on release, then I saw multi-cut and it dawned on me why in the heck am I buying 15" vinyl when I could buy a wide roll for about the same price as thermoflex, then I thought ok why buy a vinyl that doesn't work on all material like nylon etc, then I started doing jackets with nylon shell and on and on, so then I found that I had to buy other materials to do other fabrics and then all of a sudden I had all kinds of different vinyls, then it dawned on me there must be a better way and well you can guess where it went from there.

Chani:

Joto just started selling MultiCut in lengths of 3, 6, 9 and 27 yeards, instead of the old 5, 10 & 25 yard lengths.

Just a quick FYI.

I think Joto multicut is great. Also look at some of the vinyls from www.heatpressvinyl.com as they are also here on the west cost and I have used them as well. I stop buying the 15 in width long ago. it was hard to gang actually 5 as i have a margin. I was able to get more cuts from the 20 in rolls and for the same price I was paying for the 15..
