I just about got it, I narrowed down my search to a (MP16) 16x20 clam, for space reasons. I got 2, epson 1400 printers, 1 for sublimation, and the other is for cotton. I really want to get a vinyl cutter but my money is kind of thin. The original plan was to get the roland or the graphtech, but I cant afford it. I feel like I need one after watching the video by Josh(great). So, On the low end (700 or cheaper) what would anyone suggest> Whats the most economic, but looks good, vinyl I could get? The same goes for transfer sheets for sub and pigment ink? help!!
Since you're working with a larger printer (and therefore can print on 11x17 transfer paper), if you can swing just a little more money, I HIGHLY suggest getting a Graphtec CE5000-40 CraftROBO Pro. It's the same machine as the CE5000-60 24" plotter, just a little smaller. It will accept media up to 19" wide and will cut about 14.7" wide.
At Specialty Graphics Supply It's about $950 minus a 5% forums discount, and they usually have free shipping on plotters, which is also a huge savings.
I've heard that the LaserPoint from USCutter is working with transfers now, but it's got a different system for lining up your registration marks...a manual registration system.
I think you'd be much happier with the automatic registration mark system on the Graphtec.
I know it's about $200 more than you want to spend (after discounts), but you'll be much happier, I think.
continued>> subli-nation has the graphtech 24" for 995usd, but I nver heard of them before. Has anyone heard of this company,, to add , I found a great deal on a garment package from xpres.
If they're selling it for $995 US, that's an EXCELLENT deal! I doubt it comes with a stand at that price, tho. But if that doesn't bother you, go for it if shipping and duties won't kill you!
I think you'll find that should be £995 not $995 for the Graphtec. I've just bought one from Mulberry design & Print and it comes with a load of free items - 5 rolls of sign vinyl, several sizes of application tape, squeegies. weeding tools etc. Enough to practice on and to get you familiar with the machine.
