Should I buy another computer to start up with? Should I keep same computer withxp media center, and if so should I get anything cleaned up on it before I start? What requirements should a new computer have? Looking around and seen a package on Xpres.com(the garment package), anyone have some feed back on this package? Where should I get my package from(suggestions).? Figured I'd get all the questions out at one time!!!!!!
look at the programs you are using....see what the requirements are and then buy accordingly..
With todays machines, I would not get less than 1 meg Ram..2 if you can afford it.. and depending on how much hard drive you have left, your present machine should do okay
I think that was supposed to be 1 or 2 GIG of RAM.
As long as the graphics software that you have will run on your present computer you'll be find. You could use an OLD computer for running a plotter, but what you have or get will depend on the graphics software you would like to use.
If you do buy a newer computer, yes, I suggest getting as much RAM as you can get, but any of them will run a plotter.
I use one computer for Corel Draw, which does Direct to Garment printing. The same computer, I use for advertising design and for cutting vinyl for garments (with two different vinyl cutting programs), as well as printing film positives for silkscreening.
In other words, one computer, (with your XP operating system) should be just fine.
